Pakistan Customs has approved a new off-dock terminal at Hawksbay, Karachi
Pakistan Customs has approved a new off-dock terminal at Hawksbay, Karachi, operated by International Cargo Terminals Pakistan (ICT), a subsidiary of Denmark-based Scan-Group A/S.
The new facility is expected to improve cargo handling capacity, reduce pressure on existing ports, and speed up customs clearance and trade operations. The project represents Scan-Group’s second major logistics investment in Pakistan after its Port Qasim facility, bringing the company’s total investment in the country to more than $30 million.
Officials stated that the terminal will support the development of modern logistics infrastructure, improve supply chain efficiency, and create better trade facilitation services for businesses involved in import and export activities.
Efficient logistics systems play a key role in reducing transportation delays, lowering operational costs, and improving a country’s competitiveness in global trade. The Hawksbay facility is expected to contribute to Pakistan’s efforts to modernize its cargo management ecosystem and attract further foreign investment.
The development reflects growing interest in Pakistan’s logistics sector and highlights the importance of stronger infrastructure for expanding regional and international trade connections.
